On 7th October it was my birthday and guess what, I gifted myself this book called “IKIGAI”. As it was highly recommended by my mentor.


Thought of Sharing a valuable insight with you.

“IKIGAI”, the Japanese secret to Live a Long, Healthy and Happy Life.


This book is authored by Hector Garcia and Francesc Miralles what I liked about this book is that


• It focuses on the reason to jump out of bed each morning and personally even I believe that the real health is how good you are feeling in your skin, with how much energy you jump out of the bed each day.


• Ikigai is written by combining the symbols that means “Life” with “to be worthwhile”. According to the residents of the Japanese island of Okinawa - the world's longest-living people find IKIGAI is the key to a longer and more fulfilling life.


Japan has some of the best-kept secrets for longevity that has been passed over generations as a legacy


• Eating traditional food over anything else even when they are out.


• Eating only 80% of the stomach capacity.


• Incorporating movement in their daily life. 98% of the children either walk or cycle to their school. The daily commute for most people is either cycling or taking the train and then walking to their offices or workplace.


• People there sit on the floor to eat.


• The importance of physical activities is so imbibed among Japanese that even older people maintain a healthy lifestyle.


Being an ancient wisdom lover when I look back at my childhood healthy food was always been an integral part of my growing up years from picking fresh leafy vegetables to eating seasonal fruits, it seems like my mother knew everything about food and nutrition. She is the only person I know who had the patience and persistence to prepare a balanced nutritious meal three times a day throughout the year.


From the art of cooking to eating food with love, I grew up among the best role models like my grandfather who would close his eyes and take a long time chewing every bite of his food as if he was feeling the love with which the meal was prepared.


I strongly believe we have to go back to our roots, eat what is familiar and easily accessible, be more mindful and enjoy our food. As this is the information we are providing to our body.


My brand Freshlime Wellness also educates and empowers people and help them achieve their fittest and the healthiest version.


So what we need to reflect is our ancient wisdom has all the secrets to living a Healthy and Happy Life. We have complicated it.
